ERMCA History

The club was officially a club starting spring of 2000. Officially, meaning that we had been approved to be a club by Student Activity on campus at that time. Really, the club has been together a little bit before that, during the fall of 1999. Going on its fifth year, the club has seen alot of people come and go, and alot of friendship being made. By now, most of the original Founding Members have graduated, and moved on to their career, but are still found surfing the site and posting on the forum from times to times.

A few gear heads got together once in the Mc Donald’s parking lot, to just relax from the day to day school headaches and stresses. They all had one thing in common: Fast, powerful V8 cars, and had one track in mind: about 1/4 mile long. From this group evolved a bigger group of enthusiast and horsepower fanatics. The club had no name at that point. Eventually, the common desire of the group was to become more involved with the school, thus, being approved by Student Activity was a big step towards realizing this Goal -ERMCA was born. The first ERMCA t-shirt went into print, the founding members shirt, of spring 2000, with the famous quote “we eat rice” printed in the back along a sketch of two cars: a 90’s mustang hatch back and a 71 chevelle.

Since those days, ERMCA has been going strong, and has been recruiting new members every semester’s ranging from AS to AE students, from the mechanically “disoriented” to the ultimate hardcore gear heads. ERMCA is what kept alot of students “sane” thru college. Many have said they were able to tolerate the everyday routine and final exams week thanks to ERMCA.

Today, ERMCA is not just a club, it’s a brotherhood. ERMCA not only provides great insights regarding cars, their modifications, their high performance enhancement, but also provides great career connections, for most “ERMCA guy” have established a career in the industry.

So join us, whom ever you maybe, into the fantastic world of high octane burning cars and friendships.
