Just did my springs/shocks/struts/cc plates last week. (HR Sport, Bilstein, Steeda 4way CCplates)
My question is, how far up through the cc plate should I put that lock nut down on the strut?
IE to prevent the strut from bottoming out or to prevent the strut from not working properly. where is perfect spot?
Please note the picture attached. How far should the strut protrude up from the CC plate?

You turn the nut down till it stops. The shaft has a notch to stop it when the shock is in all the way. I'm sorry, but that was a stupid question. If you had taken a look at the shock before you installed it, you would have noticed that immediately.

"if I had taken a look at the shock before I installed it, I would have noticed" Blah Blah blah, if I did man, I wouldnt be posting this thread! Obivously I didnt.
So, how do I know how much to put up through the cc plate? I already have about 1.5" of spacing put on below that strut nut on the top there.

You just tighten it till it stops tightening.
