Yeah, it's an import shop, but they've got a new Dynojet setup. FLSCC had a dyno day event today, and I got the SS on the rollers. Came up with 325hp/331tq with a surprisingly good A/F read.

This is a nice location, unlock Imported Performance where we did our last dyno day. This place actually has parking space! :D I'm guessing if ERMCA wants to do a dyno day in the fall (HINT), they'll probably do the same deal they provided us today. I paid $50 for 3 pulls with wideband O2 hookup.

If you want to do it on your own, they offer the same for $70 if you just call and schedule it on your own.

Great Idea Ed, that is something we will have to consider for the fall for sure.

Their group rate today (10 cars) was $45 for 3 pulls, with $5 additional for wideband O2. Damned good deal if you ask me.

Yeah, the V8s ate up us imports, well, except one, who hung in there pretty close to Ed's numbers. But yeah, the place is great and I know we over at SCIC plan on having a dyno day there in the fall as well.

hmm why do they run the car and not the owner? or you have the option to run your own car?

Ed

Insurance purposes, I believe.

What frickin difference does it make. The car goes on the dyno, and someone stomps on the gas. Who cares who does it.

Yeah, no shit.

I prefer it that way. If they're doing it and they fuck something up, they're liable for it. :)

We wont let shops work on our cars because we think we know better then most shops as to the proper way to fix our cars. There's a big difference between wrenching on them and just stepping on the gas.

My guess is since they do this shit all day long, they'd be able to tell long before you if something was going wrong. Besides, if you're that worried about something on your car breaking and them not catching it in time (i.e. loss of oil pressure, valvetrain issues, over rev, etc...) it's not time to be going to the dyno, it's time to get your shit in better order.

Get a rev limiter, check your oil.

You'll be fine.

Yeah, but running a car on a dyno is easier. That's fine, when I want to get my car dynoed, I'll just take it up to Eric. I'd rather pay a little more for a professional, then take it to someone who just bought a dyno, and wants to sell cheap runs.

I could understand if their was tuning involved. But if you are just doing a baseline pull, or there for "fun" like we were, who cares. The only thing that could possibly go wrong is strapping the car down. A 500hp/500tq camaro didn't budge, I am sure most of you won't either.

I'm more paranoid than others I know....

I think we'll work on geting a group to go dyno for fall, probably late fall when it's cooler.

if you want any wideband 02 readings you need to go to project 7. the last time i heard eric didn't have it.
personaly i like to watch my car on the dyno instead of being in it.it is a much better view.

Well, I see this is getting off to a bad side kinda quick.O.K. I'm just stating some general info here so don't take it the wrong way. I see some good and some bad things being said here, just to clear up some of the bad and the unkown stuff.the guy's at projekt 7 will always be the one's driving the cars, plain and simple.Granted it would be cool if you could drive your own car,but there are to many things that can go bad if someone is not use to using that kind of eqip.
Kurt, there are other shops in the area that do have dyno's, one that is out dated and has no wide band, and others that don't know what they have nor how to use it properly. They are not trying to give out cheap runs to get buss., they are just getting the word out that there up and running.Just to let you know, that on most dyno day events i am there to help those guy's out if that easy's your minds.

Thanks for the heads up. I saw that shop not too long, and wondered what was up with it. Nice to know they have a dyno w/O2 hookups. I'll have to book a few runs for my car in the not too distant future.

I wanna get my car dynoed. I think I have the same paranoia as JB has. Sure, what makes a difference if you drive your car or a shop guy does, but I'd rather me be driving it if something goes wrong. I wouldn't have any reason to be pissed at anyone else but myself if I was driving it. Not saying if something happened it's their fault, but that'd be my first reaction.
