Did a search and found some info on both. I'm looking to get the tranny in my '94 Z28 rebuilt. Nothing outrageous as I hardly go to the track. However, whenever I do I want to have something that I don't have to worry about. Right now I'm actually leaning more towards taking the car to Ken's Performance in Orlando. Heard he's "the" guy in Central Florida to see about 4L60E transmission rebuilds, a transmission that's not exactly easy to rebuild properly and strong. So does anyone here have specific info on 4L60E rebuilds at either Stan's or Walt's? I found one post about someone needing to get their 4L60E rebuilt, but it wasn't as specific as I was looking for.

4l60E aint strong? you can go 9's or 10's on those. anyway. i would go to stans and have a 2300-2600 stahl put in and call it a day! if you can pull the tranny you will save about 300 bucks!

20k miles? WTF you just had that done. Have you been driving to Guatamala for hookers again?

I didn't say they weren't strong, just that it isn't easy to build them strong and have them last decently long. It is a very easy transmission to screw up even if you're an expert at building other trannies.
I already have a Yank 2800 stall and a transmission cooler that I want to retain, so I'm set on that. Fade what did you end up paying for the job at Walt's, and what did it include? You can PM me with the specs, price, etc. if you want.
Thanks for the replies so far.
