i was on E today on the way to school so i put 10 gallons in there of shell 93. with in about 45 seconds the car was popping at idle and as soon as any advance came in (any aceleration) the car would bog and pop and shake viloently. wont go over 5k rpm either. prolly got a watery 87 instead of 93. 11.5:1 amplifies it too

just thought i would give you guys an FYI. how do i get rid of this? put it in the riddle parking lots and siphon it out into a drain there? can i get my money back?

I was at John Hall pontiac today and my service adviosr said the same thing. He said that they had over 29 cars in the past week come in for the same problem and all of them used gas from Shell. He said that Shell uses new formula gasoline which keeps the valves open and fucks with the computer.

I never liked that shell at ISB and bill france.
THe customer service is sub-human. They are assholes there, and if you havent experienced it yet, the management is a bunch of tools/dicks.

I hate that place

...not to mention the fact that they're usually at least 10 cents more expensive than anywhere else.

How does the gas keep the valves open?

Sounds like the kind of gas I got a few months back form an exxon in Jersey. I just ran the car as much as possiable to burn the crappy gas (but get 3 or 4 gallons of 93 in there asap). As a percaution I changed the fuel filter and it ended up killing my #5 injector.

Don't really think you can siphon it unless you disconnect the fuel lines by the filter, these cars do have an anti-siphon.

HAHA I find this very humorous cause I know how bad it sucks. I just had this happen a few months ago comming back from SC. Basically he is right you cant siphon it out because there is a metal plate that catches the tube and its really really hard to get out once you put the tube in. Basically you want to reach under the driver side and disconnect the fuel filter. Then it should eventually drain out, also make sure you pull the fuse for the fuel pump start the car and let it stall out from no fuel. That will save your skin lots of gasoline from pressure. Once its drained fill it up with a gas can then go somewhere that specializes in cleaning injectors. I messed around with all those fuel additives to clean out them and they are horseshit!!! Only after I got the injectors cleaned did it ever run right, after wasting like 4 full gas fills. Wish i would of known sooner. After your done draining btw you might as well change the fuel filter they go for about 8 bucks. Well worth it.
