Hey, I've always wondered; what makes the steering wheel vibrate on older cars with automatic transmissions when you are sitting still in park. Seems just about every car has the same problem when it gets around 80,000 miles. Why does this happen.

lol, Yeah, what Jenni says.. Our rental car right now does the same damn thing. I've noticed the same thing with almost all (not necessarily older) front wheel drive cars with autos at work when I pull them in or drive them. I've asked my step dad (ASE Master Auto Tech for 25 years) and he didn't even know. lol Oh well.

I am referring to an odor in the Escort. I don't think I will have a girl bobbing up and down in my lap in that car anytime soon.

Hey, Kurt... Does the shaking happen without the A/C on or with it on? I see this problem all the time with most auto equipted frw cars... It's common... But if you didn't have this problem before, it might be something. There are many things that could make it shake at idle.

I have had it for a long time, and of course it gets worse with time. It doesn't matter if I have the AC on or not.
