The tranny on the blazer imploded, it was supposed to be a built 700r :banghead:

So i need a new one....I was recomended a 4L60E from the newer trucks...
My question is is they anydiference between a chevy, S-10 4l60E and a 1500, 2500 etc turck? how bout the camaros 4l60e?

No can i just get any 4L60E? OR does it have to be a 4x4 one? i know the output shafts housings would be different between a 2wd and a 4wd...but whould it be as simple as swapping out the housing?

These a couple auctions ending on ebay today and in the next couple day so any help you can give me would be great....all the blazer 4x4 forums suck and nobody cares

You will almost definately have to get a 4L60E 4 X 4 tranny for a Chevy truck. Call a tranny rebuilder and pretend like you are all interested in getting a tranny. They will be able to tell you exactly what trannies will fit.

To the best of my knowledge, if you get a 4L60E you will have to purchase a stand alone computer for the trans, because it is an electronically controlled trans.

The 4L60E came up when i was taking about putting a lt1 in the blazer. so there would be a computer to control it, but is the 4l60e better then the 700r?
I just want a tranmissing thats not gunna blow up like this pos...then again it was prolly f'ed before i bought it

Don't you mean Jerico (http://www.jericoperformance.com/19.html)? :) And if you want something heavy duty...they made 4L80E's for most *working* trucks, they're a little tougher and rated for heavier loads.

Unless you have some bad ass motor in the thing, just get the 700 rebuilt. why waste all the extra time and money on the tranny upgrade if it's not needed.
