Hey guys....
I was talking to kevin mannix yesterday about some stuff regarding the club, and he wants to set up a community service project with our club and with Veterans Association (mitch's club). Basically it'd be a half of a day thing, maybe picking up trash, painting buildings, cleaning stuff up...it'd be a good way to make friends with the local police....cuz they'd be involved big time. Only thing is...i cant have people say they're willing and then back out...this is just preliminary to see if anyone would be interested....no dates or anything yet...

It's a good idea...however, I want some clarification. I thought you stepped down from the club. Eh?

plus Mitch (if its ERAU rent-a-cop Mitch) is a piece of shit...so I'd say he can go paint houses himself.

Does one need to be an official ERMCA member to pick up trash in the Daytona Beach area? I have always wanted to help clean up Daytona :yuck:

Hey, let's not be rude and shoot down Jenni's idea so quickly.

Yes and just to clarify you should watch what you say because this was proposed by the club Advisor.

Ah yes, can you smell how much ERMCA wants to help better the community? :dork:
I'm all for bettering the community in a productive way (ie Habitat for America) and not just picking up garbage. I'd rather build shit than roll around in trash. Nothing wrong with trying to do something positive, but picking up garbage is something inmates should do.

I think we should help out, gives us a better image (where i'm from all car clubs are viewed a street racing gangs that should be jailed, execpt for my club because we put out a good image, I.e. community service, rule against street racing, etc). If I don't have classes I'll help out. Sounds like a great idea to me.

was that for this semester or for spring?
if it's this semester, it's gonna be difficult to find time, but for next semester it shouldn't be a problem.
Either way fine by me
We could also volunteer for a DARE type program with the police. Teaching kids is actually pretty fun. Plus, it's in air conditioning. :D

I understand that I'm not an officer of this club, but I have some free advice on this matter (take it or leave it).
This is not just a club folks, this is a business. This club charges money for membership, therefore, it makes a profit in return for a service (membership). Jenni posted last week that she was stepping down as a member and officer of the club. Now she said she isn't. If this type of childish activity is allowed to happen within the upper level management of this organization, it shows a great lack of leadership. Jenni PUBLICLY announced her resignation, and is now PUBLICLY announcing her posistion as treasurer. I ask JB and all upper level officers of this organization to honor Jenni's resignation and disallow mind changing because of other unrelated personal issues. This is a business, lets run this club like one.

As stated from this post:
"if the question is, did i step down from the club ed, the answer is no ...im still treasurer"
Last weeks statement:
"As most of you have probably guessed, im not going to be in the club any longer"
Ummmm ok, I think somebody is a little confused here! :derr:

The point is...you cant go back and forth. I know you may be too little to understand big people topics but please try to understand that this isn't a high school activity club.
You said you quit...and you're gone. Now you want back? Thats not how business operates...and I said its free advice up top...my membership has nothing to do with that. I'm only offering my .02 I may not be a member, but I do own a successful business...and I know how to run one.

Hahahahaha...kids say the darndest things.
Actually, Dan is right. If President Ebbs were to resign, and then the week after say, "oops! I guess people want me to stay," he'd still be gone. Nothing personal, but we gotta do things by the book.

Here is a little clarification for the situation at hand.
Under the ERMCA constitution, Article VII, Section V, Part A, describing Officer Vacancies, the constitution states "The current officers will call an emergency student organization election meeting to fill officer vacancies until the next regular meeting takes place."
Following up.....ERMCA constitution, Article VII, Section II reads "Two weeks prior to elections, open nominations shall be held by active members. "
Since an officer publicly stepped down, a vacancy occurred. It is up to the remaining officers to set up an election meeting in the coming weeks. Two weeks prior to THAT date, nominations will be held. You don't just say "tomorrow we'll have a vote." I believe that should be a consensus of the officers, which I believe was not reached.
Enjoy...

like i said...who am i to say anything, but...
after learning about all these fun situations, i had a question...
who asked jenni to reinstate herself into the club, back as treasurer nonetheless?
i think that this fickle-mindedness needs to be stopped...this is crap...you either choose to be in the club, or you choose to leave--but, you dont change your membership like you change your underwear.
pardon my stepping out of place, but i just had to ask...

Not to go against anyone, but if we are going to have a club that is run correctly and well organized we need to follow the procedures set forth in the bylaws of the club. When you say I quit, there are no second chances. I think an open nomination and election is at hand with Jenni still being alowed to run for the position.
