Hey, I have just been assigned a project in materials to find and analyze a metal component that has failed. I figured since many of you build and rebuild engines and cars, you might have some broken pieces lying around. If you have like a rod or a camshaft, spring, something broken, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Ask kenny, hes got like 13 rear ends layin around. On that note, go by tims (volusia drivetrain), he'll have something, too.

That or you could bring deebos whole car in, haha. That's def. a failed peice of metal :p

They need machine components that have been damaged due to stress/strain/metal fatigue, not sewing/knitting fabrics.

Nice try tho.

well, I had an idea today. I just took the metal pieces we broke today in materials lab and I'm going to see if I can use those. If not, I'll try Volusia Drivetrain since its right here in town. Thanks for all the suggestions, I appreciate it.

i believe I still have my broken clutch at home, can possibly get by the weekend. It broke shifting into 5th gear cruzin at 55mph. the outter part of the disk (friction portion) sheared away from the center part. I had way too much power for that disk anyway, which was the the reason for its failure. http://www2.freepichosting.com/Images/421567407/0.jpg

This has got to be one of the most frustrating projects I've ever done.

East side of Nova Rd, just north of ISB. Next to the Rentway and the Autozone.

I did that with a SPEC 3 clutch. Popped the rivets out of it, and a spring fell out.

Jeff, I went down to Action, and got the broken centersection, and some broken main caps out of a 302. Contact Nicole or I, so that you can have one or the other.

Thanks again Dennis
