So if you own a fucking internally amplified car, and you want to use an aftermarket radio, you pretty much have to get this thing called a SCOSCH adapter. Only one company makes it, so there are no quality options. Well I bought one like 3 years ago. Recently my speakers have been cutting out, which I could somewhat rectify by jiggling the wires. I finally decided to track down the problem, which led me to the SCOSCH adapter. The case is sealed, so i cracked the lid off with a screwdriver. Half the solders on the wires had come lose. I tried resoldering the wires, but the board is made of such cheap shit, I just couldn't make a good connection. Looks like I'm off to Circuit City tomorrow to buy another one.

Ummm.....as much as I like to pick on the banana...well truth be told...I have one of those converters in the bird. Put too much volume through it and it will break up slighty.... :blah:

Makes my wallet cringe just thinking about what will rid this car of that POS! :boink:

Fricken Eh. Try replacing one of these things. I went to Best Buy where I got the thing originally, and the guy looks at me like I'm speaking French. I guess they don't do too many late model cars at this location. Circuit City didn't have one in stock, and Sound Advice said it would 5 days to get one at a price of $89.99. WTF? I guess I'll have to make the drive tomorrow without a radio. Maybe Best Buy in Daytona has a clue.

Situation Rectified. I have acquired an adapter at a good price. Works great. Now I have tunes in my car again.
