Ford suggested buying a 5W-20 full synthetic for my car(2003 gt). The only problem is nobody makes a 5W-20 in a full synth. They said just use their synthetic BLEND for now. Id rather run a full synthetic but not exactly sure which one...what do you guys suggest ?? 0W-20 mobil or maybe something thicker like a 5W-30 by valvoline or penzoil

For warmer weather use a thicker oil. For colder use a thinner. Depending on what the weather is 85% of the time.

umm yeah there isnt a big difference or even a noticable difference between 5-20 and 5-30. i run 10-30 Mobil one in this car and 20-50 in my old LT1. (had a bad intake gasket leak so the thicker stopped it. actually had straight 40w in it when i took it to the dealership so they wouldnt see it drip)

I've called Mobil 1 on this before. You should use 0W-20. It's their substitute for 5W-20.

yeah but its not synthetic.

I just use a 5w-30 or a 10w-30 Both are fine, you wont be in any sub arctic climates where it will make any difference anyways. Im not sure how cold it gets up there, so ill suggest a 5w-30, should be more than fine.

As far as brands go, go for Mobil 1 if you want something easy that you can find anywhere.
You can also try AMSOIL or Redline if you want some of the best stuff there is.

Don't go 5W-30, go with the 0W-20 if you want synthetic. If you don't want to use synthetic, buy the Motorcraft 5W-20. Valvoline also makes a 5W-20 that is readily available, but the Motorcraft is better. It is a semisynthetic. We sell it at Advance, it isn't that expensive.
