???? how is reading this stupid book gonna help me be more succesful with marketing?
Gentlemen.
If there is a mandatory meeting to which you cannot attend. you cannot just NOT show up. The purpose of these meetings is so that we can make certain decisions and make important announcements, like on sunday, who our new treasurer was gonna be. If you cannot make it. It is imperative that you contact one of the officers, so that this does not get on record. Its truly not that difficult, just give jb, luke, me, or now jonathan a call... so that we can excuse you.
There is a procedure to everything, please follow prodcedure so that you dont get reprimanded for your absence.

I think there is break down in communication within this organization. Most people I come accross are always lost coz they don't know whats going on, what time to meet, or where the meeting will be. Information is usually unclear and things keep changing constantly. The system u put together makes no sense and in no way will effectively work.

Some of us cant make the trip just for a meeting. it just doesnt wager out against school work. I ALWAYS try to go, and if i dont make it, I DO make sure to find out what went on or what i need to know.

Eddie:
I don't think it can be made any more clearer. We have a forum with a thread that is designated for information about the club. I think it is a lack of responsibility on those persons part who fail to look at our forum and remain informed. There is no easier way than this, other than me following you or anyone else around with a bull horn and constantly reminding you of what is happening. There is no break down in comm. And no one here cares how SCIC does..... we're not SCIC. It boils down to responsibility, and commitment.

I think what has to happen here is some re-evaluation. There has been things that I have liked and things I have disliked, but I think the officers and club members need to sit down and get things figured out for the rest of the semester and even start looking at next semester. This thread started with the lack of participation at the meeting on Sunday. (sorry, I forget to tell you I had work) I think the officers have to figure out why people aren't getting the information, why people are not showing up, etc. I also think a lot of people are out of the loop, that basically no one really knows what is happening. Maybe this is because no one shows up or perhaps the information isn't getting out. For example, we are scheduled to go to Gainesville this weekend, but we are not going. How come? Is do to funding? Was that funding used for the garage? What is happening with the club is basically what I'm asking. Maybe meeting minutes need to be posted so for those that have missed know what is happening. A lot has changed over the course of the semester and if there is one thing you can count on, its that things never go according to plan. Who knew we would have to elect a new treasurer? I just think some re-evaluation and some planning is in order to get things back on focus. But for the most part I am happy with everything.

as brad stated, most of the information is posted on here...if some people choose not to check it then it is there own fault...ladies and gents, this is college and a college club, we can't hold everyone hands constantly. Most people that keap themselves in the loop konws what's going on.
Chris, for the trip, there was a lack of interest and lack of fundings. The idea of a garage had spark way more interest than just a trip. That doesn't mean we as a club cannot go, that just means it will come out of pockets to get there. I personnaly probably can't afford to go for a week end...that doesn't mean we cannot get a group together, drive over on Sat am and come back at night. I belive the show is 20$ for the day...
Far as mandatory meetings, Brad is again right, all we asked wast that if you cannot attend, to let one of the officers know...so far it has worked really good, only the less responsible people get bitten in the a$$....(that is by no mean pointed at you Chris by the way).
I think the club has made some good improvements, part of it is due to some really good new members, we have done 80% of the schedule activities, we got a garage back, which I think is really firering things up, just like back in the days...I think it's great, alot of people think it's great and alot have just had a blast working on some projects and are really excited to start on their own projects as well...this IS ERMCA guys/gal...this is what we are about....this is about slapping a 632 BB in jeremy's jeep and make it somethign just WRONG (700hp in a jeep is just WRONG :) ), this is about working on Dan's 92 in an attempt to do a wheel stand, this is having patrick do a 7k burn out just because he can, and this is hanging out at the garage and talking smack cuz WE can....like the days with joe and his "smokey burn out". I truly feal this club is back how it was...and now, today, are the times we will remember just like I (and a few others) remembers the days befor most of you had a driving liscence! this IS what we, the "old guys" have been talking about...this IS what you newbies ;-) have heard about ERMCA :headbang:

Basically, take all the the information you just stated and make it public. That is what I was getting at. An explanation to everyone as to what the status of the club is pretty much what I was asking. I just think that type of information needs to get out and discussed so more people have input on things.

Whats funny is I'm one of the people always in the loop yet I'm always lost. I'm not complaining coz I'm not happy I'm just so sick of the officers being reluctent to accept the fact that the club is going under. Yes the garage is a good thing but its not everything.........I was under the impression that ERMCA is not about being a wrench head!!!!! Speaking of that, what is our mission statement?
Plus I really misunderstand that system of not going to the meeting and calling the officers. What is that suppose to mean "calling the officer", so I can miss all the meetings and all I have to do is just call one of the oifficer.
