All things being equal, I think everyone here enjoys watching car races, regardless of the winner/loser. Videos of races are posted all the time, its no big deal. Besides, even if it WAS meant to poke at the F-bodies, big deal. Nothing wrong with a bit of rivalry between the greats. I think you took it just a bit too seriously shorgasm.
