Does anyone want to make a little project out of my car?
I just recently replaced the alternator twice. Both times, the voltage regulator inside blew, and both times the alternator failed shortly thereafter. It's about to happen again.
The alternator was certainly good. (at least ONE of the three I've had in the last month).
Right now, I have unregulated voltage. The higher I rev, the higher the voltage. It's to the point now where my battery is seeing 18+volts, and that is just from free-revving in my driveway. I must have a short somewhere that is causing this.
It's going to be a LOT of labor to pay a shop to diagnose an electrical problem. I figured maybe someone in the club, or possibly some guys at the new garage could help me out and try to figure this out.
Anyone interested? I need this ASAP, as I drive to Lake Mary for work everyday. I can't deal with blowing an alternator on the highway again.

Thanks for anyone/everyone that is interested in helping me out, or at least trying..

Thanks
Justin

oh yeah, it's not the stereo. Even though those would be the most likely power wires to be suspect, even when I shut off the head unit (thus turning off the amps and having them draw 0 voltage) the electrical system is still fucked. My warning lights on my dash keep flickering on and off, and it was an intermittent problem that is now pretty constant.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

thanks guys

Unfortunately I speak for myself only here, but we couldn't even solve Dan's simple electrical problem. I wouldn't even think of getting into your car. But thank you for the offer.
