Gears are done...
It runs through gears (1st and 2nd) real quick, but it's alot of fun.
I believe Dustin did all the work on my car. They are a class act and I would trust them to do more work to my car if I was gonna be in the area.

Oh sorry i didn't see this sooner. But yeah i had them put an eaton in my lightning and swap the 4.10's out of the cobra to put in the lightning and put some 4.30's back in the cobra.
But yeah i'm pleased with their work!:D

What the hell do you need 4.30s in a blown Cobra for?

HAHA! I was actually thinking about going with some 4.56's.
It's all because of the tire size i run at the track, 28x10.5. I should be going through the traps right at about 7k now with the 4.30's. Hopefully i'll see tonight if i go to the track.

OK, sounds like good logic to me. Just seemed a little extreme at the time. Tell us how you do. Is that a 28x10.5 ET drag or what?
The MR2 came with 4.26:1 gears, and I never really thought twice about it. It makes a big difference when you have a high revving motor.

03 cobras rev to 6800rpms thus 4.30 would be nice. they also have 6spd trannies. I dont know if this was the original comment, there goes anyways.
I got my 4.10s installed for 130bucks cash at a Ford dealership, under the table.
just my .02 and comments.

I actually talked to a cobra owner and he said that most cobra drivers are leaving stock gears in the cars because of the amount of torque they have tends to make 4.10 gears pointless, and due to a lack of traction they actually slow down.
they say 4.10's or 4.30s are perfect for NA stangs.

Don't know who you've been talkin to. But for an NA GT 4.30's are the way to go and then 4.56's with a cobra.
And you can never go wrong with gears, especially the new cobra's. You just have to know how to drive, they won't slow you down. Or just put some stickier tires on it.

Will,
You need to drive a car with gears before you speak....these gears (4.10) are perfect for our cars. I only lose traction when I step on the gas and try to do so...
The difference is night and day. If we lined up, I'd smoke the shite out of your car, simply due to the gear. Acceleration with the 3.27 vs. 4.10 is like a station wagon vs. a 'vette (maybe a little overexaggerated, but you get the picture).

How long did it take for them to do the install, Rich?

about 2-3hrs is the industry standard if they start the work as soon as u get there
that is what it took for me with the 8.8 rear.

Ed,
I dropped it off at 0800 and picked it up at 1400...I was at work anyway, so I didn't care how long they had it.
It's night and day....it's almost like a whole new car.
