Finally, after waiting and waiting and sorting through loans and insurance crap, I can now say that I'm shopping for an LS1 Trans Am. I just called a guy about a great Firehawk sale in PA, but they sold it yesterday. I'll be looking on autotrader and ls1tech.com too.

Here's what I'm looking for:

98-02 Trans Am (Firehawk if price is right)
Less than 60k miles
Less than $19k
Must be M6
Preferably black, but will look at others
Preferably leather

I'm starting to look at whats in the Volusia area right now. My main two areas for shopping are central Florida or the DC metro area. I'd appreciate a line if you come across anything similiar.

Jeff....man-up and buy the fucking Z, you ain't gonna find a better, babied, low-milage, no mod F-body anywhere. Save the extra cash a slap a SS hood on it and spoiler and you're set. As much as I like F-Birds I'd take the Z28 in this case.

Tell ya what. If things fall through with the Firehawk, send me some pictures of it. T-tops?

And I might be getting the Firehawk (with LT+loudmouth) for same price you're asking for the Z.

Well unfortunately the Firehawk fell through. There's a chance he may call back in the next few weeks to take our offer of $17.3 on it, but until then its back to shopping. Joe, where is the Z located now?

Actually, that is a Firehawk Formula. jeff, go look at it.

Actually the WS6 is a suspension and Ram Air package available on both the Formula and T/A. The last year for the Formula WS6 was 99, and the Formula FireHawk was the same.

It sure looks like a Firehawk Formula, correct hood, and badging, If I was still a GM boy, I would be on that like white on rice, in a glass of milk on a paper plate in a snowstorm. The rarity of that car alone more than makes up for the miles. :dunno:

I don't think its a Firehawk...the front clip where the air scoops are don't look like a Firehawk's. And I think Brad is right about 99 being the last year for Formula Hawks.

If I'm going to buy ANY other car than a TA, it will probably be Joe's. But I'm still looking for TA's first. Joe, I'm going to be in NY next sunday, I'll give you a call.

I should be able to check out a 2000 Firehawk in Georgia on my way up tomorrow, see another TA in Maryland, and then the following week make the trip to Joe's place to see the Z. Hopefully I can come back with something with 346ci.

I went to Delaware today to test drive an 01 SS. While it might not be the car I end up with, it definately assured me that I'm looking in the right direction. Holy shit that car was fun.
