Looks like I'm going to have to take apart my T56 to find out what's giving me so much trouble. Who's a good local shop to talk to that won't fuck me on the price?

If anyone wants to help me diagnose my problems, let me know. JB heard the noise I'm trying to describe...first second third and fourth try to "block" me out of gear without using a bit of force, second gear barks if I shift quickly, it will occasionally go half into gear and grind too. Thanks for the help.

I'm not too sure there is anyone here in the Daytona area that is especially good at the T-56 a friend of mine ended up going to Orlando.

My T-56 is pissed too. Sounds like its grinding when it gets any significant amount of power going to it. Could that just be a shifter adjustment though?

You mean just a rattly noise under hard throttle? What kind of shifter do you have anyway?

I'm thinking synchros.

No its like the gear grinding sound that makes you cringe. I have a Hurst shifter. My synchros may have issues too, because 2nd and 3rd are like his problem, just not as bad.

Speak for yourself.
If you want a all out trans, we have one out of Glenn's 02'ss with all new parts and viper output and billet keys and lots more. It can be bought for the right price.

Who was that? I'd like to get it done as soon and as quickly as possible, I need the car to get around. Also not completely sure what the problem is either, so I may need to order more parts once we take it apart.

you have the time, Dl the manual and do it your self. I have, P1 has as well as some other friends. The t56 is easy and there are no tricks. then order what you need from D&ds and your all set. Probally cost $50-$100 to do it your self

I don't have shop to do it in, or a press, or the tools either.

I'll stop by Action today.

Sorry Dennis....I didn't think you would want to get involved with just repairing a tranny.

I hope I'm that lucky...probably not. Today I found out that Action is only open a handful of hours a day.

Yea Action burned me when they told me they could make me another MSD wire if I brought them the burnt one, but when I did they changed their mind and I had to wait a week for MSD to send me one.

So I probably need a couple synchros, but what about the grinding noise when I put power to it? Could that be from a bad synchro too?

Well it looks like I'm gonna tear it apart over Christmas. New synchros/bearings. I don't know if anyone else knew about this site, but they come highly reccommended for T-5/T-56 parts. Looks like it's where I'm gonna pick up everything:
D&D Performance (http://www.ddperformance.com/)

That is where I got all the parts for mine. Make sure you get billet shift keys while you have it apart.

Eric, I'm probably going to be doing the same thing. I'd like to do it sooner though, I'll let you know what I figure out.

Now if you think about it Action did't burn you. For one, no one there said that we would make you an Msd brand wire as for we don't have msd wire in bulk roll, we have moroso wire in bulk. And you did't mention it was for a lt1 either, which takes a totally differnt dist. end. And we changed our mind you say. That's funny I remember going back into the shop and seeing if I had a long enough wire for my own personal stuff to help you out, guess you forgot about that. And if I had a set of wires in stock I would of pulled one out of a new set for you, but I did't have one in stock. Beside I forgot, we were the ones that installed them laying on the headers right? I think there are many in your group that Action has helped out more that once. Sorry you feel that way.

Look, my original post was not meant to be derogatory in any way. To clarify, I called and stated that I needed a number six MSD 8.5mm superconductor wire for a 94 Z28, on which the LT1 was the only engine offered. Perhaps Z28 was confused for base model V6? I was told that you (you as in Action, not you personally) could make me one if I brought it there so it could be matched to length. So after that conversation I took it off and brought it to you, and I was told you could not make one. I appreciate the effort you made to help, and as I said, my orignal post was not meant in a derogatory manner. However, telling me one thing, and then switching your story on me kind of sucked, but O well, it happens. Now what I really don't appreciate is your post. You say things that aren't true, and have a bad attitude in general. I wasn't ignorant to you in any way. In fact I was quite patient. And just so you are aware for any future customers you may have, the number six wire in the MSD 8.5mm superconductor set for the LT1 is, in fact, two inches too short with Pacesetter full length headers. A representative from MSD personally told me this, and made the replacement wire two inches longer, as I originally requested. As I told you when I was in the store, it was too short forcing the boot to be turned toward the front of the engine, instead of the rear, like it is supposed to be for number six with an under the exhaust setup. I never installed any wire "laying on the headers". In fact I never even said that I installed the wire "laying on the headers", so I don't know where that is coming from.

So please don't post things in reference to me that aren't true, especially with a negative connotation. Prior to that post, I had no problem with Action. I understand mistakes happen. Your post has changed my mind. You have lost a customer and any recommendation other potential customers may have had from me. I would rather wait a week than have to deal with someone being ignorant for no justified reason.
