This past weekend my headlights have started acting weird. They go up and down then the driver's side makes a grinding noise. Also when the car is unlocked or locked with the remote controller the lights pop up and done real quick. Anyone know how to fix this stupid problem or have any of you seen the conversion kit thing to make them fixed. How much does this cost?

It's a common problem as far as I know. Just check the little gears. Usually one is worn out on one side and you can just detach and put it back 180 degrees off and use the good side.

You don't want to fix them in the up postion, if anything make them like the firehawks with clear lenses so they sit flat.... very unique.

Firehawks have flip-up lenses too Will. They do make a conversion kit to the C5-R style lighting that mounts flush, but im not crazy about it.

The prototype 98 Firehawks had fixed lights, but they weren't cost-effective. An aftermarket company makes a conversion, but they're not legal and they're expensive as hell.

I'm pretty sure it's a quick fix. I've heard of many TAs having problems like that before.

On a related note, anyone remember Graham's retarded headlights after he got his WS6 hood? Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzztttttflipflipfliplfip. They kept having seizures.

I remember something about that...didn't he have to get out of his car to get his lights up and down? :whoa:

That 98 Firehawk prototype looked awesome. It's too bad that it didn't get the green light as was.

Pic here if no one knows what they are talkin about. i always thought it was one of those mods that look good while you are driving but look stupid upon closer inspections

If you click on the link suncoast creation now sells the conversion kit, but it carrys a 1000 dollar price tag. A lot of things can be done to go fast for a 100 bucks.

he kinda does. I had to get out of my car, put a rubber band around the light relay and go from there. I hard wired the light relay though to the stick on the steering cloumn. THEN the pop-up motor's relay circuit went cooky, and now i african anginnered a switch in the car to put them up and down. The cool thing is i can have them half way up. The bad thing is sometimes they get out of sync and i have one up and one down. Then they go funky and start blinking at people.

Im getting projector lights with the new front end.

Popups can suck my balls.

Bring it over this w/e and ill take a look at it. Anyone have the factory elec service manula for his car? Maybe it's online?

Sean,
Where should i bring it for you to look at it, garage? or somewhere else, also I was thinking about getting the brass gears but i dont know for sure, if i can fix it for free that would be better. I have to believe Ed or whoever said to switch the gear around is right.
