I am one day away from buying an exhaust...
Who knows what a MAC Pro Chamber Exhaust system is made of (no cats)...aluminum, steel, aluminized steel???

They also say HTS coated...what's that mean?

Made the purchase today...I will have a MAC Pro Chamber exhaust with no cats within the next few days...:D I've been doing alot of research (via stangnet and exhaustsoundclips.com) and Pro chambers have been rated highest in performance and IMO sound the best! A special thanks to Kurt for the recommendation
So...if they are aluminum, I will have to weld aluminum flanges onto that and bolt it onto my cut outs...if I am to fit my cut outs on there...that will probably be pricey, so I may not have the cut-outs in until the end of the semester...
If it's steel or aluminized steel, those cut outs will be welded in with the install on the pipe......

I have a Prochamber in the '03. Prochamber don't come with cats...it sounds great with the factory mufflers and will be noticably louder. I wouldn't mess with cutouts, sounds like a pain and you'll need the backpressure of the mufflers.
I then put the MAC flowpath catback on my car, sounds real loud...and nice. Also, as you research, check out www.mustangworld.com, very helpful and tehy have a how-to section to show you how to do things to the 'stang, step by step, on your own.

That definately sounds feasible... the biggest variable is how much weight he removed ??

They are slicks with 3 little grooves cut in them, that M/T got some crackhead at the DOT to approve for the street.

I don't think it'll be a drastic change...maybe a .1. It's just one of many steps you'll need to take to get to the mid/low 13's.

To compliment the pro chambers, I ordered Dynomax Race Magnum Bullet Mufflers (race use only....heh). Reviews from Stangnet talked highly about these, saying they saw performance gains and great sound. There were alot of reviews on this one, and they seemed to match over any other muffler reviewed. Some of them also said these mufflers attract cops if you're not careful...but I'm an angel, I only drive my car to church every sunday

only weight reduction is spare tire/jack for the vert.

I've been talking to a friend about having the Pro Chamber with the "race use only" mufflers and all he could say was how crazy I was...he said they will be wayyy too loud for street use...
They were $30 a piece...so if they are so ridiculousy loud that I get pulled over, then I may just replace them with flowmaster 40 series...
Oh yes...he said you could be "jailed?" for having a loud exhaust??? Needless to say this has me confused...
Thoughts?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
That is true. It looks like they ran a butter knife down the tire and said ok that should be able to repel any water on the road, so it can be street legal now. :bs:

Got it installed...when I first took it out, it was such a HUGE difference from the factory exhaust...I was almost too afraid to drive it for fear of getting pulled over! I wasn't sure if I was going to keep that setup or not. But after driving it around all day, as I got used to it I liked it more and more...
My friends and I decided to go to the garage and play around with it a bit. I let my friend drive it down the road a couple times (which turned into a couple dozen times because he wouldn't give it back!!!). It sounded so friggin awesome!!! That's when I decided I'll keep it afterall...
For those of you who haven't heard, it's LOUD! A step under from the Camaro...we'll put it side by side with the "JEEP" and let the members decide...it sounds awesome from the outside, but REALLY loud on the inside...I and all my male friends are fine with that, but I drove a girl in my car and said it gave her a "headache  "...I guess that's a good thing...

The results are in. I just so happened to take the car out for 5 runs. My first one was a 14.698...however, this is after literally pulling in and going straight to the track. The engine was pretty hot...
After that, I was pulling 14.3's and 14.4's all night! My previous record was a 14.505. That has now changed to a 14.34! That exhaust setup dropped my quarters 0.2 seconds! I'm working on my 60' times...if I can get the launches down right, I can probably get a 14.1ish...that is my next goal...
1st run (60', 1/4)
2.296
14.698 @ 96.96
2nd run
2.244
14.364 @ 98.07
3rd run
2.213
14.412 @ 97.81
4th run
2.248
14.345 @ 97.93
5th run (with a girl "tiffany" in the car)
2.083
14.465 @ 96.37 I'm starting to regret giving her a ride, since I had such a good 60' time...but I scared the shit outa her so it was worth it :D
Sorry for all the hype...I know it's not an 11 second car, but I'm pretty hyped  It's good to see results...

Will...do you think that Superchip Microtuner would help out if I'm looking at lowering my time a tenth of a second? I want to raise the rev limiter to 7000 just so I'll have more range before shifts (the rev limiter sneaks up on me at 6200). It would also be nice to have a few free hp's...how much did you buy yours for?
Ponyperformance6

Mine was free.... so it really was free horsepower :D
It can't hurt, but realise that you cant raise your rev limiter, it is set that high for a reason and raising it and going past where it is set will do nothing but hurt your motor and your timeslips. Just because your motor revs higher does not mean there is anymore power to be had there, it actually falls off up real high. My suggestion is that you learn how to shift.
