News and Information Question

I am posting this in the parking lot, because I am not a mod, and therefore can not post in the forum for which it pertains to. This is sort of a Carlin like question. Why do the mods sticky threads in the News and Information forum? Is this just old habit or what? I mean, cuz it's not like anyone can post in there and make those threads move down, and out of site. It's just Ed and JB in there.

Keeps threads from vanishing after however long...Yeah, some of those threads really don't need to be set as announcements. That's more for "long term" info.

I guess I could clean that up.
