Rich proposed the first week of December.

I can do that. Will we meet a someone's house or will this be an outing at a restaurant / sports bar?

If its an outing somewhere I'd suggest somewhere in the city that easy for everyone to get to like Gordon Biersch in Midtown. Its big with easy parking has beer and good food and plenty of space for a large group.

Other ideas, toss them out here.

I'm in. If Rich is volunteering his house, I'm up for it. It's much easier to get there then it is to get to the city, and almost eveyone lives on the south side anyway. I'd offer my house, but I'm probably the only one who is going to show on the north side. Rich, do you have Sunday the 6th off?

Highland Tap.

Kurt...I'm going to be at the ASA crew lounge all fucking day on Friday doing some pilot/controller forum for NATCA. I plan on phoning in any douche's callsigns to work so they get fucked on the way out.

HORSEpower

Cool. Amazing how they screw that up. ASA said that it was going to be Atlanta tower guys there, not center guys. I'll be able to come hang out around 10:00am. I will be able to assist in douche identification and figuring out their callsigns.

The useless swivelheads from the tower will also be there to amaze you with their "cleared for takeoff, cleared to land, left turn, join bravo, bravo to victor, ground point niner on victor" skills.

I'll be off that entire weekend (Dec 4-6, Fri-Sun)...so I can get a few people into my house who come in for the weekend. We can do a cruise somewhere too.

Cool, it's a good opportunity to see the new place too. IMHO we should meet up at your place because it's closest for most people without the hassle of downtown, and then go for a cruise somewhere.

Yeah, but those tower guys have to do ground work too. Toughest controller job in controlling has got to be the Atlanta ground controller, followed by ramp 4 controller.

I've been to ATL once and it was in the middle of the night, I just about screwed everything up when they told me to taxi on DIXIE, I was like WTF... OOOOOHH gotcha lol

Rich,

The get together sounds awesome, but I'll still be over here. My unit has been doing some good work, we were recently featured in Aviation Week magazine...

Take some pictures and post, I check the site as often as I can.

Rich,

Awesome article. I wish you could be here to attend, but we'll do it again when you get back...I'll keep a few cold ones ready for you.

Are you at OAA? We fly into there a few times week...alot of freight going in.

Kurt - My house works...can get a few bodies in here. BBQ is at the ready.

Sounds really good to me. We can do the next one up here at my place, I'm cool with that. I know going downtown is tempting, but I honestly don't think many people will show up if we go downtown. Eric only goes in there on the Marta, and I never drive the stang downtown. I'll text Josh and let him know when the time gets closer, and I think I can get Roed on facebook.

Kurt

I second that...BBQ'n is a nicer idea, and there's no way I'd drive anything other than the Truck down town, and I would rather drive something more fun than the truck...

INTENSS
10-27-2009, 6:06 AM
Im not a big fan of driving into the city either...midtown yea, downtown..not at all. Barbecuing is easy...relaxing...and if you just want to drink and not have to worry about driving it's best to hang out at someone's place.

Dec 4-6 (fri-sun) sounds like a good time for most. If people from out of town want to fly in on that friday and stay through sunday, that's fine with me...I can take 3 people comfortably. Have 2 spare bedrooms/beds and a fouton. JB had said he'd take one, so let me know whoe else wants to stay here. Again, I can get contacts for the hotels up the street if anyone prefers...they're literally about a minute away...1/4 mile up the road from the subdivision. If we get more people from out of town, some of the other Atlanta guys might have some room too...but they'd have to confirm.

For those that come in on Friday, we can head somewhere for dinner...Taco Mac is pretty decent and close by. We can start barbecuing earlier on Saturday for the football games and just keep on going until whenever. I'm on vacation Dec 1st-12th...so I'm wide open if anyone wants to stick around through Sunday or Monday...just let me know. We can cruise to someone elses house or wherever on Sunday..(or more football???)....throw some ideas out, we've got a bit of time. I wish I had something to install on the cars...lol.

Whenever someone thinks they're pretty confident they're going to come, just post up so we can start to get a head count. I'll send a pm with address/contacts or maybe we can post it up in a member only area? I don't really want to just put it out in a public forum.

HORSEpower
10-27-2009, 10:01 PM
It's 1.75 hours away from where Brad lives. Add another 45 minutes to get there from where Barth lives. And you also have to travel on the worst commute in Atlanta, I-75 southbound), right around rush hour traffic time, so you can add another 2 hours if it's in rush hour. They do however have Friday Night Drags at Atlanta Motor Speedway, which is only about a 45 minute drive. I've never been.

Here's the plan:

Official ERMCA Alumni Gathering
Date: Saturday, December 5th
Time: 1200pm to whenever
Food/beer will be provided, feel free to bring your favorite drinks
Location: my house (directions provided per request)

For those coming in from out of town, you are more than welcome to come on Friday, Dec 4th and head out of town on Sunday, Dec 6th. Like I had mentioned before, I have beds available for 3 people, 2 are already claimed....just let me know if you want the last one....first come, first serve.

PM me for address/directions to my house. I don't want to post it up here on the internet....also gives me a good idea as to who is coming. I am located in Newnan, GA just off I-85 to give you an idea for drive time.

If anyone has an X-Box 360/PS3, go ahead and bring it with some games...might be cool to get some Madden or something in.

Looking forward to seeing everyone....hope you all have a good thanksgiving.
