Cam Swap

Who thinks I could swap my cam in the LS1 in our garage. Does anyone have any experience doing this swap. Just wondering if I should try to do it in the garage or just wait and have someone else do it?

I think there was a discussion before on whether you should just take the whole engine out to do the cam swap or not.

all i can do is take things apart and put them back to gather, just say when! :D

In the next couple of weeks i am going to try and get a timing chain and oil pump because i want to change those too. I also need to get oil and coolant and also JB said I can use his spring compressor, I plan on using the pen magnet method instead of buying that 120$ lifter thing. I have read the ls1 howto and I think it is very doable. This would be the only way I could get the cam into the car anytime soon because it is ridiculously expensive to have someone do it. I will post in the garage section when I have all the stuff thats needed for the swap.
