So I was reporting the squeaking problem I was having with my clutch when it was all the way out (the I'm in hotlanta thread). I was, and still am, under the impression that it was throw out bearing related. The throw out bearing was replaced under warranty back in tampa area at Karl Flammer Ford just before I left. I don't know exactly what they did but it didn't help the problem one bit... still a squeak when the clutch was all the way out.

So I took it to John Bleakley Ford in beautiful Lithia Springs, GA, and they went ahead and pulled the tranny and replaced the whole clutch and flywheel. I told my service guy I wasn't expecting all of that, and he just smiled and said "I know, enjoy."

So for stock parts and a free fix, I think I did ok. BTW, for those of you experiencing a similar problem with your stangs, that obviously cured the problem.

They also did an alignment and it drives straight again, and for those of you who knew about the way my car ate front tires, it appears the alignment was the problem all along.

my clutch area is squeling, with the clutch engaged and also with it disengaged. supposedly the tob was replaced, I guess I might be experiencing the same issue as you.

maybe i can get a new clutch out of it too :D after all those hard launches on slicks!

-i also heard our alignment from the factory is shitty, as evident from your problem. I am getting cc plates w/my springs and shocks, and hopefully she'll drive correctly again :banghead:

A bad throw-out bearing will cause the clutch to not fully disengage. The damage was probably caused by the TOB, but the dealer never bothered to inspect the clutch.

Well it looks like Florida Ford Dealers are pretty good too, as long as you go to Gary Yeomans and get Mitch Wyberrney to work on your car. He is hooking me up with a new clutch disk, pressure plate, and throwout bearing because my T/O bearing failed witch caused the fingers of the pressure plate to not engage properly and caused a squeak that prompted me to bring the car in for service. I asked him about the flywheel and he said he owuld take a look at it and resurface it if needed otherwise he would just clean it up and take care of me. He even offered to install a performance (lightened) flywheel for me, If I bought it and brought it in, :D

Yeah, my car was there, they got the work done in like half a day. He if you want a new flywheel, buy one and take it to him, Mitch Wyberney, tell him I sent you and if he has to replace your clutch like he did mine, then I am sure he will put that flywheel on for you no problem.

I also found out my car had a blower on it before i bought it. :banghead:

That does kind of stink, but I think that if I was going to have problems with it, I allready would have by now, and i wouldnt be running as well as I am or getting almost 30 mpg on the highway. It is obvious though, that the car had a Vortech (most likely) on it before, there is a bolt right through the front of the oil pan. Mitch also said that the thinks they put a new tranny in it, possibly after blowing up the first one, because factory 3650s dont have a sticker on it that says Tremec, and mine does..... Oh well the risk of buy used. :D

That's strange, I too had my whole clutch, flywheel, tob, etc. replaced beacuse I heard a noise in the clutch when it was disengaged....do you guys have '01+? Mines an '03.

I had about 15,000 miles on the clock when I took it in and had it replaced (under warranty).

Yeah they did, but because it was making a noise caused by a failure of the throwout bearing. But I was under 36,000 miles.

My car is a 2002 done completely under warranty.
