lol, yeah I was doing about 70 when I put it on the ground. I have to figure out how to conver the video from my buddy's phone. It's only a little clip. The long clip he can't send to me because his phone wont let him
I have to learn the art of just getting it to touch the ground. Cause it will still spark just as much barely rubbing the ground vs full on the ground. The was full on the ground, but that slows the truck down a little. Earlier that day I was headed to watch a rugby game at my buddy's college and this lady in a jeep kept tailgating me and wouldn't pass. I slowed down to like 55 and she was still on my ass. So I put it on the ground lol for a second, she backed up instantly about 200 yards. Last edited by Typhoon; 04-17-2007 at 11:32 AM. |

yeah, I actually went by a NY state trooper, who was on the other side of the highway who had someone pulled over. My friends who were in the Trailblazer SS following me were all like "cop, cop, cop, cop, cop...Oh well, wonder if he saw that".
lol, some how I think he had to see it but there wasn't anything he could do really. |

Right now I am trying to figure out what rims I wanna run. I don't understand the whole offset thing. I don't really have any interest going bigger then 18's. I am not really making a crazy show truck, I am just going to make something that looks nice and I can drag the hell out of. Everyone keeps telling me, pick the rims out first and then do everything else, becuase it wheel combo's make a big difference when you go to do the notch and notch cover, plus being able to turn the wheel. That's why i'm thinking 18's a fine. But how do I know what offset i need. If I run a 17x8 rim, that's like 4.5" of backspacing, but what the hell determines the offset I need to run. 5-10mm So what would it be for an 18x8 or 18x8.5 |

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna get reading.
Yeah, it is pretty noisy. definetly gets people attention when you go through the parking lot like that, but obviously doing like 5mph or so it's still loud. It's pretty loud inside too, not like ear deafing loud but loud enough. |

Just ordered up the 4-link and notches last night. So they should be here in a week or so. I have to talk to my buddy about ordering up the bags, bag mounts, valves and line.
I wonder if I will be able to get away with using the 5 gallon tank for a little while or should I just order up a 12gal now. |

Update alread lol
I decided I needed some new seats. It was really more of an impulse buy. I looked around and found some 93' Typhoon seats in Long Island, so I called my buddy Tom and he swung up to my house with his Trailblazer SS and we headed out to Long Island to pick them up. Couple hours later, :chad: we back home and installing them. Install went pretty easy :help: . I couldn't figure out how the hell to wire up the power becuase the 88' doesn't have power seats. so after :chairshot: for 20mins, I had a brilliant idea. I own a Typhoon, it's the same damn seat. So I took the Typhoon out moved the seat forward, moved the new seat over, plugged it into the Typhoon harness, adjusted it where I needed it and then installed it in the 88'. I'm brilliant I tell ya. :coffee2: Well here are some pics of before and after. Before ![]() ![]() After ![]() ![]()

one more fast update
actually got a bunch of stuff done this weekend. I also got rid of the flamed tail lights and put in some new stock taillights which looks much better and I painted the wheels black. the red was killing me and the cops weren't really that impressed (as i learned this weekend). An officer in danbury was kind enought to let me know they those wheels and window tint (it has flames in the tint too) might attract some officer attention. Here's some pics of the wheels. It was pretty simple, just sandpaper scuff up the red paint a little, hit it with the primer and then paint them black. ![]()

frame looks good. where you going to mount the gas tank?
I just ordered up some 13" insane lift bags for the back of the truck. I got some interior parts at home today, so I will be taking out some of the orange shit for now. So coming in the next few days-week - IAS 2dr 1st gen Blazer 4-link kit - Blazer step notches (we have the wierd crooked frame rail) Buddy bought these for me so no cost to me - 13" 1/2 port insane lift bags for the rear $442 $179 $109 $730 -$109 $621 total so far for the build (not including truck price) Now, just gotta order up some brackets, line, valves and we should be good to go.
